A neo-classical, late 18th century, statuary marble chimneypiece. The moulded shelf has rounded corners above the frieze which is centred with a tablet carved with a tazza shaped lidded urn with leaf decoration on a sockle decorated with running pearl, with swages of drapes hanging from a ring and entwined and loped through the handles. Flanked by finger fluted panels, the end blocks with circular paterae carved as flower heads with drapes and ears of corn suspended from bows. The pilaster shaped fluted jambs resting on foot blocks. The opening framed with a continuous band of running pearls.
