A late 18th Century, Anglo Irish, architectural marble chimney piece of Neo-Classical design. The moulded shelf rests above the fluted frieze which is centred with a rectangular projecting tablet with an inset oval medallion of Rosso Verona marble flanked by finger flutes inlaid with Sienna marble. The stepped back jambs with Sienna finger fluted caps echoing the centre tablet. The moulded opening is framed in Portoro, Black and Gold marble, the whole raised on grey/black marble foot blocks.
