An early 19th century, Ionic columned chimneypiece in white statuary marble. The plain rectangular shelf has rounded corners. The frieze is barrel shaped with convex ribbed panels flanking the beautifully carved central tablet with a patera shaped as a circular flower, flanked on either side by three rounded astragal mouldings. The end blockings are decorated with oval patera carved again as flowers supported by tapering reeded columns terminating in Ionic caps and raised on foot blocks and backed by plain pilasters.
